Shape Engineering brings on new director

Shape Engineering in Liverpool hires director with 20 years of experience to head up its national civil engineering team

Nick McGorry is joining Liverpool-based Shape Engineering as a director to head up its national civil engineering team.

He joins from SCP, where he was North West regional director, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience to his new role. Nick will lead the growth ambitions of the firm’s civils teams in its Liverpool and Milton Keynes offices.

And he will also work to extend Shape’s reach from housing, education and commercial into the healthcare, leisure, and energy sectors.

“Nick has an outstanding reputation, and we’re delighted to have him on board,” said Barry Wilson, Shape managing director. “He shares our ambition to drive quality and delivery, and brings with him a wealth of experience.”

Nick’s career has seen him grow through the ranks among some of the most respected names in North West civil engineering, starting his apprenticeship at Curtins, with spells in both Clancy’s and Alan Johnston Partnership.

He will support existing Shape Engineering clients, including, Vistry Partnerships, FI Real Estate Management, Torus, and its framework partners across ICN, JV North and Fusion 21, among others.

“I am delighted to become a part of the next phase of Shape Engineering’s growth, which has been incredibly successful during the last eight years,” said Nick.

“ I aim to bring my own experiences and skills, which uniquely compliment those held by the team at Shape, expanding their offering across a range of multi-discipline projects with flood risk, highways improvements and site support.”
