Property consultancy Project Four is set to increase its office space at Mann Island in Liverpool after growing its headcount to 40.

Project Four was launched as a health and safety consultancy in 2017 by co-founders Alan Robson and Max Meadows, setting up an office at Avenue HQ close to the city’s waterfront.

Since then the venture has seen significant growth and has become a multi-disciplinary consultancy. It now employs surveyors, architects, fire specialists, construction, design and management regulations and building safety Act (BSA) advisors, design managers and engineers.

Alan and Max have new roles with Alan becoming chairman of the business and Max managing director. Both remain the only shareholders with Alan having a majority stake. Project Four is in negotiations with Avenue HQ to take a larger space.

Project Four saw a huge period of growth following the launch of the Building Safety Act in 2023, which came into effect post Grenfell Tower tragedy. It saw a 60.4% increase in turnover in the last year, and a projection for a 48.2% increase in turnover in 2025.

A new structure and hierarchy has been implemented over the past two years. Steve Rossiter has joined as operations director, and Paul Cope as a non-executive director. The company has also launched a base in London.

Clients include Muse Developments, MODA, Morgan Sindall, Trigon, London Square and Commercial Estates Group (CEG), working on core projects such as CDM, building regulations, contractor support and Building Safety Act advisory.

Alan Robson said: “We’ve been on this journey of growth for seven years now, and our expansion feels both sustainable and organic, as we continue to refine our services and broaden our footprint across the UK.

“We’ve spent the last two years implementing a brand-new structure and hierarchy, focusing on refining our process, driving efficiency and delivering excellence for our clients, and we’re in the best position yet heading into 2025.”
