Winners of the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2023

Mersey Maritime has unveiled the shortlist for its annual awards celebrating Liverpool city region’s £5bn powerhouse maritime sector.

Now in their 10th year, the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2024 (MMIA24) promises once again to be a “celebration of excellence and innovation within the maritime industry”.

A record number of companies and individuals submitted applications, leading to a highly competitive finalist stage. The shortlist was selected after a rigorous evaluation process, involving 13 judges.

This panel comprised national, regional and local industry experts, business leaders and Government representatives.  Mersey Maritime will launch the final stage of the judging process, the industry voting platform, on Monday, September 16.

It will provide local, national, and international industry peers with the opportunity to cast their votes for the eventual winners. The will be unveiled at the awards dinner on Friday, October 25 at Liverpool Cathedral.

Ruth Wood, chief executive of Mersey Maritime, said: “This year’s entries have set a new standard, and our judges faced the toughest task of scoring the applications and determining our finalists who will now proceed to the industry vote.

“Every entrant can take pride in their work, as the depth of activity across our sector is vast, with significant growth, innovation and impact to our coastal community being demonstrated.
