A Liverpool business that creates apps and websites for clients in the travel and tourism sector has announced two key appointments.

In August LBN revealed that Digital Travel Marketing Group, which trades as digitaltravel.io, had broken through the £1m annual revenues barrier for the first time since it was formed three years ago.

Now it has taken on Liam Hynes as head of project management and Husnain Tahir as a senior react native developer. Liam joins from Mando Group in Liverpool where he was project manager for four years. Previously he worked at MDS Global in Warrington.

Husnain Tahir has more than six years’ experience of creating cross-platform mobile applications with Anthrophi Technologies in Manchester and Loosid App in New York.

Established in Liverpool in 2021, digitaltravel.io has a particular focus on the cruise sector, including some of the biggest brands – Hays Travel, Imagine Cruising and Flight Centre.

Its innovation has been to create a scalable integrated bespoke app and website platform with customer engagement features powered by travel data and content. It has clients across the EU, Americas and APAC region.

Peter Whittle, co-founder and chief executive of digitaltravel.io, said: “As a young business, making the right appointments is crucial if we are to realise our early promise, especially as 59% of our customers are overseas.

“Liam is a top operator and we are very fortunate that he was looking for a new challenge and that we were able to excite him with our company’s vision. Husnain is a computer scientist who has rapidly gained a reputation as a talented developer.”
