US entrepreneur Mark Jackson has launched a business comms platform that uses AI-powered language translation technology – and it was in Liverpool where he was inspired to create it.

In 2018 Mark attended the Liverpool International Business Festival along with thousands of others. At the time he was the chief executive of Alabama-based Moreson Conferencing which helped businesses stay connected across 65 countries.

However, the COVID pandemic in 2020 had a devastating impact on the business. Rapid adoption of platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams caused Moreson’s customer base to dwindle. Mark was forced to close the business.

This would have been crushing for most business people but, like a true entrepreneur, Mark dug deep into his own resilience and decided he wasn’t going to give up.

He recalled his experience at the International Festival of Business which brought together business people from all over the world. That inspired to create his platform, BlueDot.

“Looking back at my experiences at the International Business Festival, I found renewed energy for my vision,” said Mark. “Liverpool was more than just the birthplace of the idea for BlueDot; it was an inspiration.

“The city’s energy, international culture, and reputation for fostering innovation gave me the nudge I needed to think big. What started inside Liverpool’s vibrant business festival, now has the potential to transform how individuals and businesses communicate on a global scale.”

He says BlueDot isn’t just another video meeting platform but “a tool designed for genuine connection, for bridging divides”.

At its core is its AI-powered language translation technology, which enables people to converse seamlessly in their native languages.

Whether it’s a multinational business meeting, a remote classroom, or a family communicating from separate corners of the globe, BlueDot ensures everyone is heard and understood—as if they were speaking the same language.

The team behind BlueDot promises to keep Liverpool updated on the progress of this venture.
