UK airline Jet2 announces further expansion at Liverpool John Lennon Airport offering mini breaks to European Christmas markets from winter 2025. Tony McDonough reports
Jet2 will fly to Vienna, well known for its Christmas markets
Jet2 and Jet2CityBreak will offer Christmas markets mini-breaks to three European destinations from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) starting in winter 2025.
In March this year, Jet2 and Jet2Holidays took off from LJLA for the first time ever with 20 summer destinations across Europe. The Leeds-based carrier is also offering a programme of winter destinations from this autumn.
Now the company has announced an expanded programme for winter 2025 with the launch of a programme of mini-breaks to Vienna, Krakow and Prague, all famed for their Christmas markets.
All three destinations are being served by Jet2 and Jet2CityBreaks from November to December 2025. The programme includes:
A new mini-series of flights and breaks to Vienna with up to twice-weekly services (Thursday and Sunday) from November 20 to December 14, 2025.
A mini-series of flights and breaks to Krakow with up to twice weekly services (Monday and Friday) from November 28 to December 15, 2025.
A mini-series of flights and breaks to Prague with up to twice weekly services (Monday and Friday) from November 28 to December 15, 2025.
Package options with Jet2CityBreaks include flights with Jet2.com including 22kg hold luggage and 10kg cabin luggage, as well as a choice of 2 to 5 star hotels in central locations.
Jet2 chief executive Steve Heapy said: “The demand we are seeing for our enormously popular Christmas Markets programme continues to increase.
“This is why we have responded with our biggest ever choice of Christmas Market destinations on sale to date for winter 25/26 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
“This latest programme includes the launch of a new mini-series of trips to Vienna, as well as the return of flights and city breaks to Krakow and Prague.”

Paul Winfield, aviation director at LJLA, added: “This new route (to Vienna) will complement existing city break markets to Krakow and Prague.
“We anticipate high demand from passengers across Liverpool city region and wider North West on a route that has previously proven extremely popular from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.”
