Downtown announces series of autumn eventsĀ 

Downtown in Business announces series of events featuring leading figures from Liverpool city region senior decision-makers. Tony McDonough reports

Leader of Liverpool City Council Liam Robinson will feature in the DiB programme

Business lobbying and networking group Downtown in Business (DiB is unveiling a series of autumn events featuring Liverpool city region leaders.

This programme will include in conversation events with figures including Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram and leader of Liverpool City Council Liam Robinson.

Also on the list is city council chief executive Andrew Lewis and director of city development Nuala Gallagher, as well as Halton Council chief executive Stephen Young.

This month, DiB will hold events focussing on Liverpoolā€™s Knowledge Quarter, and a conference celebrating 20 years of the Liverpool BID Company. Downtownā€™s 22nd annual Livercool Awards in November are sponsored this year by Warwick North West.Ā 

DIB will also host its first Liverpool Parliamentary Reception, which will take place in Westminster on Budget Day, Wednesday, October 30. Business leaders will be joined by Ministers, MPs, Peers, and local government leaders.

Chair and chief executive of DIB, Frank McKenna, said: ā€œWe have more than 50 events planned across the country between now and the end of the year.

ā€œSome of our key conversations will be in Liverpool, where we have a city council leadership beginning to make progress, a metro mayor with a mandate for a further four years, and the Labour conference taking place.

ā€œIn addition to hosting local leaders, we will be talking to government ministers and key advisors too.

ā€œIt is an exciting time for DIB, and we have enjoyed a fabulous 2024 so far. We are looking to end the year with a bang, and our extensive events programme will certainly help us do that.ā€Ā  Ā
