Construction and engineering giant Amey signs up for another five years at the Matchworks development in Liverpool. Tony McDonough reports

Urban Splash’s Matchworks development in south Liverpool has signed up Amey for another five years.
Having been at the site for two decades, the construction and engineering giant has invested in creating a “future-ready environment” for its shared services and North West consulting teams at the 14,390 sq ft office space.
It features a new reception and meeting suite, flexible room sizes, a 156-desk open-plan area, and upgraded breakout areas. Amey has also upgraded Matchwork’s welfare facilities, introducing draft lobbies.
To support Amey’s net zero objectives, the space retains highly efficient air conditioning, crucial for a building with expansive glazing. The office also benefits from “smart” LED lighting to minimise energy use.

David Isteed, head of property at Amey, said: “We are proud to continue our longstanding relationship with the Matchworks, creating a workspace that offers a comfortable, collaborative, and sustainable environment for our North West colleagues.
“Our ongoing investment not only supports our people but also reinforces the Matchworks’ reputation as a premier business hub.
“These enhancements, driven by our ESG ambitions, show that it is possible to create modern, high-quality workspaces that are both sustainable and future focused.”
